The AIR MOTION TRANSFORMER (AMT)

The AMT was invented by Dr. Oskar Heil, a renowned German physicist, in 1969. The first patents for this innovative technology were filed in Germany on February 19, 1969, laying the foundation for its further development.

The US patents for the AMT were officially granted on January 18, 1972, fostering the international recognition and adoption of this invention. In the early 1970s, Oskar Heil licensed his technology to the California-based company ESS (Electrostatic Sound Systems), which specialized in the manufacture of high-quality audio products.

To this day, ESS manufactures and markets a significantly improved version of this special tweeter, ensuring the technology remains a presence in the audio world and is appreciated by many music lovers and professionals alike.
